I swear after having babies my memory is the worst. Maybe it’s from being sleep deprived or just the ‘Mom brain’ we have been given. I forget words, names, everything.

Honestly, If I don’t write things down then I will probably forget to do it. I’m a list maker anyways. So the struggle is real.

But sitting down to meal plan can sometimes also be the worst. All because of thinking of which meals you plan to cook for the week. Meal planning is my go to but that doesn’t mean I always know what I want to cook.

And that can be frustrating.

I feel like I can actually forget the majority of anything I have ever cooked. I can’t be the only one?

But I am all about simplifying my life. If there is a simpler way to get the job done then you better believe I am going to find it.

So I started to save my meal plans. You can get my free one-page meal plan sheet down at the bottom.

On the busy weeks that I forget to meal plan or can’t think of a thing to cook I have my already made meal plans from previous weeks made out.

There are times that I want a completely new meal plan and it can just be added to the binder. Or I will also use the binder as inspiration to mix up a meal plan for a new week.

And if you stress over meal planning this is why you also need to save your meal plans to be able to use later. I’m sure we can all agree that a lot of work went into those meal plans anyways. No need to throw them out.

All the meals you can never remember are all there in one place ready to reuse over and over again.

Saving meal plans for later

First print out your meal plan sheet

Down below you can get a free one-page meal plan sheet to print and write your weekly meal plans on. This way you can neatly have each weekly meal plan written down.

Mark how many days of leftovers you do

You can either mark how many days your family usually eats leftovers in a week or you can fill each space with a different meal idea. Even if each day is filled out you can still skip over a meal when it comes to using your meal plan sheet.

Plan your meals

Plan out 7 meals from either weekly meal plans or meals you already cook weekly. It may take time to get a variety of meal plans but once you have them you will be able to rotate them. Or use them as you please.

List your groceries

At the bottom of the meal plan write out the groceries needed. This way when you are writing out your grocery list for the week you will be able to easily access any ingredients that are needed for the week.

Hole punch and stick in a binder

Make a special binder for your meal plans. Hole punch your paper and put it in your binder. You could also add dividers and make different sections. Whether it is cheap meal plans or Spring, Summer, fall and winter meal plans.

Enjoy your variety

After doing this weekly you will save enough meal plans for a variety to rotate. There will be times when you want to make an entire meal plan but on the busier weeks, you will have this binder. Full of meal plans you saved.
